These are some newspaper headlines that flashed recently. What is common in them? You might have guessed till now… ‘Blogging’…! And the more common to it is ‘Celebrity Blogging’. Why do you think that people like Laloo Prashad Yadav or like Amir Khan are busy in blogging these days? They are… and let’s find in why…?

Blogs… a contraction of the term ‘Web log’ is a website, usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse-chronological order.

Well there goes the definition, and believe me blogging is far more interesting than that. For a rookie who want to express his ideas and even communicate with the ‘netizens’ (Internet Users), blogging is the best of the form. Staging a website is never going to be easy. The price involved for domain name hosting and the actual web-space will cost a minimum of Rs 900/year. Also the designing cost is extra. So the best way is to have a blog wherein you get a sub-domain (e.g.: – yourname.blogspot.com) for free and ready to go templates. Moreover for web-designing enthusiastic, they can compose their own html-xml codes and crack them at their blogs. So move on…!

Blogs are of many types. Many provide commentary on a particular subject; others function as more personal online diaries. Well, the above are the classifications, but they never are binding to you. A blog can be simply your personal online diary or a collection of class notes! A recent study on the growth rates of top 50 Websites over the past year by market research firm ComScore Media Metrix shows that there is a decline in the number of visitors of top websites but sky-rocketing at sites focused on social networking, blogging and local information. Blogger.com has the highest growth rate of 528% between February 2005 and February 2006.

So all one need to start his presence felt is to register him in free blogging services like blogger.com or wordpress.com and start communicating. Be always regular so as to enjoy active traffic.
