The dish antennas are redirecting and trying to point towards the capital of India. Portals are coming up concentrating on Delhi and the living style of India as a whole. The city in itself has turned into an excavation site with deep underground and high flying constructions trying to defeat time and come up in a whisker. Right from the footpaths to the inaugurations of different flyovers and new Metro train service, the City seems to be running towards sudden scoop of development that it has tasted. Ministers coming up with speeches asking Delhi to behave properly! Prices are soaring up – be it the basic food products or the fares of Delhi Metro or that of city buses.
But for what Delhi is heading? No need to explain much… the bill boards, Commonwealth Games Delhi 2010, mushrooming in the city explains the urgency by which the city is preparing for the prestigious event. The comments about the deadline failure of Delhi to prepare itself for the games by Commonwealth Games President Michael Fennel, has fired in the much needed projects and that urgency has lead to a somewhat ‘chaos’ with every now and then new projects are inaugurated.

Delhi might feel relieved that the preparations are in-line now with an eye to hoist a brilliant Games.. Chairman of the Organizing Committee 2010 Commonwealth Games, Suresh Kalmadi said that India will be hosting the first green Commonwealth Games (CWG). So a green revolution can be expected just before the Games and hope that it won’t at all be Green paints!

Some cynics have criticized the accelerated speed of preparations by urging that it will have a very negative impact on the durability of the constructions being done. Cement needs some time to settle in, but the speedy race towards completion of the projects might not at all frame up together and collapse in a decades time.

Hope with the speed, the safety norms are taken into account and no any untoward incident comes up to light. Wish for a very healthy green games… lets do our part now…
